Not being a fan of healthy eating, I don’t normally make an effort to visit healthy eating restaurants and cafés. So my visit to 3-2-1 Café, which is located within the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, came as a pleasant surprise. I learned that you can eat healthy and enjoy really tasty food. Not just tasty, but also very reasonably priced as well.

3-2-1 Café

The café is obviously very sporty in appearance because of where it’s located. Spacious with a selection of seating arrangements, both indoors and outdoors which is going to be really nice when we start to move towards the cooler weather. The staff were friendly and helpful, guiding and advising on the menu choices.

I started with a salad. Chef recommended a Broccoli Salad, with mangetout, sugar snap peas and edamame. And as I watched him prepare this, I knew it was going to score high on my taste buds chart. My eyes didn’t deceive me. The salad looked amazing, tasted absolutely delicious and was totally healthy.

Next up was a pizza called Pizza Alive. But hold on there, this isn’t any normal pizza, not by a long measure. This pizza is guilt free and indeed dough free. The pizza base is made in-house using seeds. There is walnut ricotta instead of ricotta cheese, cherry tomatoes, grilled piquillo pepper, spinach, grated courgette and halloumi cheese. It’s bursting with flavour, so much so that you completely forget that this pizza is actually healthy. The chia seed pizza base is actually more filling than bases made with flour dough and contains a lot more beneficial fibre as well. I was eating healthy and thoroughly enjoying it.

3-2-1 Café

And for the main course: Turmeric Brined and Grilled Chicken with Spinach Salad and Wild Rice. I fancied a bit of chicken, and this was a great choice. The chicken was juicy, the turmeric added a good touch of flavour, and was grilled to perfection.

For drinks I had a mixed berry banana and vanilla yogurt smoothie made with oat milk, which once again tasted so good that you forgot it was healthy. And I finished with a surprisingly delicious beetroot latte that I didn’t expect to like and ended up absolutely loving.

The broccoli salad cost QAR45, the pizza was QAR75 and the chicken was QAR85, totalling QAR205. The drinks were QAR40 for the smoothie and QAR23 for the beetroot latte, bringing the total for the meal to QAR268. There was more than enough for the two of us, so that works out to just QAR134 each including drinks. An absolute bargain for a tasty three-course meal, that was healthy and guilt-free throughout.

If you’re planning on visiting the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, make sure you incorporate a stunning meal at the 3-2-1 Café to complete your experience and make it extra special.
