The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is launching the first French brasserie in Doha, Sel & Miel, this week, opening its doors to guests who want to have a ‘taste’ and ‘feel’ of an authentic French restaurant.
Reminiscent of Parisian lifestyle, the brasserie delivers delicious French-inspired fare in a sophisticated ambience. Sel & Miel features a marble bar, gold touches throughout the venue and a large colourful mosaic along the main wall. It has comfortable interiors with four different seating sections – the main dining area, a bar seating, and an indoor terrace, plus a private dining room called the Chef’s Table which can accommodate nine guests.
This modern brasserie will have delicious authentic French menu prepared by the new Chef de Cuisine at Sel & Miel, Chef Alain Regnault and his culinary team. The brasserie has one motto: ‘la joie de vivre’, which in English means ‘the joy of living’.
Chef Alain’s passion for creating delectable cuisine began almost 30 years ago when he pursued his culinary studies at Lycée JB Decretot School in France. This kicked off an exciting culinary journey that took him and his career, global. He has worked extensively throughout the different areas of France including in Paris and Courcheval. He was recognised as the ‘Best Teacher’ when he worked as the Head Chef at Le Relais du Postillon in Antibes, also in France.
With him heading the culinary team at Sel & Miel, they promise to serve dishes with a simple combination of flavours put together with passion and respect for each ingredient. Featuring fresh, light yet traditional French dishes, they will only use quality products that pay tribute to iconic French recipes and cooking techniques. Dishes are designed to be shared in a lively atmosphere that is sure to create memorable moments for guests.
Included in their offering are signature French appetisers such as the ever-popular foie gras served with mango chutney and brioche toast and the Sel & Miel Salad with seared tuna, zucchini marmalade and quails egg. Other French classics such as the traditional French onion soup and the decadent mille-feuille caramélizé with crème chantilly dolce will also be offered. Don’t miss their signature dessert Tarte Tatin, an upside-down tart with caramelised apples, or else miss out on the joy of sinful sweets.
Sel & Miel is set to be the place to indulge the palate for lunch and dinner and to enjoy a wonderful time with friends, family and colleagues.
