The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa is delighted to announce the appointment of Ahmet Erdem Unal as its new Director of Sales and Marketing.

Erdem graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Suleyman Demirel in Isparta, Turkiye and carries over 12 years of hospitality experience. He started his career in 2011 in the United States of America, where he held several leadership roles in the F&B and front office departments at one of the biggest convention hotels in the world.

Then he moved to the Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center and Lugal, a luxury collection hotel for a multi-property position in the front office, reservations, and revenue management. Later he supported the Turkiye Revenue Management Cluster Office and has been a part of the pre-opening team of the Caresse Luxury Collection Hotel as task force. Afterwards, he moved to Doha in 2019 as the Director of Revenue Management at The Westin Doha Hotel and Spa.

During the pandemic, while the DOSM post at The Westin Doha was vacant, he started to head the sales and marketing team, and was officially appointed as DOSM in March 2023.

Erdem was also nominated for many awards throughout his career such as the Hall of Fame Award in 2018 and 2022.
