The Women’s Circle – Where Women Come Together, a Sheraton x Anahi experience, aims to bring together amazing women to share, discuss and witness each other’s journeys in a safe and enriching way with unique concepts & collaborations. This initiative comes under the ‘Together We’re Better’ CSR program inspired by Marriott’s spirit to serve the community.

AnahiFor the May event, the Women’s Circle creates another new experience, a panel on female led filmmaking. ‘Women in Film – Centering Young Women as Storytellers’ celebrates the Short Film Lab for empowering, mentoring and supporting a group of 14 incredible young women, residents of Qatar, from nine different nationalities. They each wrote, filmed and edited their first short movie, inspired by diverse themes impacting their lives. Together these projects offer unique glimpses into crucial issues facing their generation. The Lab was funded by the Community Grants program from the American Embassy Doha.

For this one of its kind event, the Women’s Circle will host some of the mentors, the young filmmakers and other women in the industry in a conversation around storytelling, filmmaking and more.. The panelists are named for the event; Hend Fakhroo, Qatari filmmaker of The Waiting Room and His Name; Dr. Mohana Rajakumar, Short Film Lab Founder, Producer of ; and Fateema Al-Hamaydeh, Mentor, Screenwriter and Director.

Women in Filming – Centering Young Women in Storytelling will take place on Tuesday, 17 May at 6 pm at the Dukhan Meeting Room in Sheraton Grand Doha. The event costs QAR50 per person, including coffee break.
