Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
Netflix, 4 May

The highly anticipated Bridgerton prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Season 1, is coming to Netflix this week. The series follows the journey of Queen Charlotte, an intriguing historical figure played by India Amarteifio and Golda Rosheuvel. The spinoff centres on the teenage Charlotte’s transformation from a German outsider to the Queen of England when she marries King George III, played by Corey Mylchreest. The show features the challenges Charlotte faces, including a domineering mother-in-law, Princess Augusta, portrayed by Michelle Fairley, and breaking societal norms by paving the way for people of colour to ascend into high society. The prequel promises a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world inherited by the characters in the original Bridgerton series.
