FUBAR
Netflix, 25 May

Arnold Schwarzenegger, known for his iconic roles in movies like Terminator and Kindergarten Cop, is venturing into TV with FUBAR, his first-ever series. Premiering on Netflix this week, this eight-episode show combines action and comedy, featuring Schwarzenegger as Luke Brunner, a seasoned CIA operative nearing retirement. When he is tasked with extracting another agent, who turns out to be his own daughter Emma, the duo embarks on adventurous missions around the world to thwart the villainous Boro’s pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. FUBAR promises to showcase Schwarzenegger’s charisma and introduce him as a TV star, adding to his impressive career accomplishments in bodybuilding and politics.

American Born Chinese
Disney Plus, 24 May

Adapted from Gene Luen Yang’s genre-spanning graphic novel, American Born Chinese follows the life of Jin Wang, an average teenager balancing his social life in high school and his familial responsibilities. However, when he encounters a new student on the first day of school, Jin’s worlds collide even further as he becomes unwittingly involved in a conflict between Chinese mythological gods. This coming-of-age series features a talented ensemble cast including Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, Poppy Liu, Ronnie Chieng, James Hong, and Jimmy O. Yang, who reunite after the success of the Oscar Best Picture Everything Everywhere All at Once. Premiering on May 24, the show can be enjoyed on Disney Plus.

American rock band Matchbox Twenty is set to release their fifth studio album after more than a decade of hiatus. Entitled Where the Light Goes, this 12-track album features new music, marking their first release since 2012’s North. Vocalist Rob Thomas expresses his satisfaction with the album, stating, ‘It sounded like who we are, we know who we are, but also a glimpse of what we sound like in 2023’ in an interview with PEOPLE.
