United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Islands, recently organised an annual staff gathering to recognise  the hard work and dedication of its employess. The event was led by UDC President and CEO Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman and members of the company’s Executive Management. It was held at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski at The Pearl-Qatar.

The event honoured staff members who have completed ten years of service at UDC. They were presented with certificates of appreciation and gifts by Al Othman, who each thanked the employees for their achievements and for the continuing success of UDC. Two employees were also recognised as ‘Employee of the Year’ and ‘Manager of the Year’.

Al Othman also presented the company accomplishments and financial performance for 2018, highlighting strategic objectives set for 2019 and the company’s five-year business plan. He said that UDC’s performance over the past year reflected the company’s resilience and commitment to its development strategy. Al Othman praised the employees for their contribution and reaffirmed their commitment that UDC will remain a prestigious workplace, with a corporate culture that encourages diversity, knowledge transfer and best practice.

A documentary was shown to highlight the company’s accomplishments in 2018, which marked another successful year for UDC with the inauguration of Gewan Island, UDC’s latest real estate project, adjacent to The Pearl-Qatar island.

Awards and Milestones 

Aside from Gewan Island, UDC has accomplished several milestones in the development of The Pearl-Qatar island, including the launch of the third sale phase of residential units at Al Mutahidah Towers and the second stage of property sales at Giardino Village, in addition to the commencement of construction works for two commercial showrooms at Abraj Quartier district.

UDC also unveiled a project for the construction of the ‘United International School’ in Giardino Village district, to meet the needs of residents in The Pearl-Qatar area and other surrounding communities. Development of Floresta Gardens is also underway – residential towers, gated communities with villas and a shopping centre.

UDC has also recently won a number of international awards in recognition of its success in developing integrated real estate projects: Best Real Estate Development Company in Qatar 2018 from the International Finance Magazine Award; 2018-2019 Best Mixed-Use Development Award from the Arabian Property Awards; and two awards from Qatar Business Excellence Awards 2018.
