As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, Vodafone Qatar announced their sponsorship of Qatar Red Crescent’s Disaster Management Training Camp, held recently from 21 February to 2 March.

The camp aims to build awareness about both natural and ‘unnatural’ disasters that occur worldwide, and how to provide the necessary aid required during these times. Training coaches from various organisations around the world were on hand to share their knowledge and expertise with the participants.

Vodafone Qatar Chief Human Resources Officer Khames Al Naimi said they take pride in their social investment initiatives that benefit the wider community. He said that these initiatives follow their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.

It was an honour to sponsor Qatar Red Crescent’s event, which mobilised the power of youth in volunteerism, and contributed to the human development goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) CEO Faisal M. Al Emadi, expressed his thanks to Vodafone Qatar for sponsoring the 9th Disaster Management Camp, organised by QRCS as the world’s only Arabic-speaking disaster management training event.

He said that the camp was amazing and achieved its planned goals, thanks to support from the government, as well as private-sector sponsors like Vodafone Qatar, which has already provided funding and in-kind donations for QRCS in many projects.
