Elevate your evening with an authentic Japanese ambience, where the artistry of Japanese cuisine seamlessly blends with the spirit of Ladies’ Night.

For lovers of Japanese cuisine in Doha, Sakura Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar at Radisson Blu Hotel Doha is one of the go-to places. Located in the West Wing of the hotel, this eatery effortlessly transports diners to Japan while firmly anchored in the heart of Doha.

Our recent visit to Sakura was an exploration of their Ladies’ Night, a culinary voyage priced at QAR99 per guest, which includes a meticulously curated set menu spanning appetisers to desserts, accompanied by refreshing soft beverages.

Remaining faithful to its Japanese heritage, Sakura commenced our evening with oshibori, the customary Japanese ritual of presenting hot towels before a meal. Although not part of the set menu, we couldn’t resist indulging in a bowl of Miso Shiru, a traditional soybean soup boasting a profound, savoury essence with hints of toasty, salty-sweet richness.

Beyond the confines of the set menu, an enticing à la carte menu selection is also available. The fried shrimp tempura, with its tender yet crispy texture, quickly ascended to a favoured status.

A standout on the menu was the Special Chef’s Maki, a symphony of deep-fried shrimp, tanuki crab, mango, and crunchy flakes enveloped in a roll, crowned with a delectably sweet sauce—a must-try delight that tantalises the taste buds.

Now, onto the appetisers included in their Ladies Night promo, we had cucumber sushi rolls, also known as Kappa Maki, California sushi, salmon sashimi, and a mixed yakitori glazed in a savoury-sweet sauce.

As the evening unfolded, the Teppanyaki performance by Chef Engelbert took center stage, transforming our dining experience into a mesmerising spectacle. With a genuine smile and masterful techniques, he orchestrated a symphony of spatulas, flames, and sizzling grills, elevating the culinary journey.

Sakura - Radisson

The high-quality and authentic Japanese cuisine entrée featured stir-fried vegetables, fresh salmon, savoury chicken and shrimp, a perfectly cooked medium-well Sirloin, and a flavourful bowl of fried rice. Among these, the shrimp and sirloin beef emerged as the best.

By now, we were beyond stuffed, but we surely left some room for the dessert platter, bursting with colours and flavours we couldn’t pass up!
